we huddled on a wicker rocking chair
on warm summer nights
tangled in each others embrace
we watched the stars.
and her dog barked, he barked all night long
but it didn't matter, we had each other.
and every night I battled strand after strand of honey hair
through her immortal kisses
and we kissed and kissed
until our hearts burst
then
her heart changed,
her dog died,
and she threw out the wicker chair
but the stars stayed the same
and so did her kisses
